Travel expense tracker

Know what the trip is costing while you can still adjust.

Set a trip budget, record each expense and group costs into categories. TripSetGo keeps the total and remaining budget easy to see on web and Android.

Before the first payment

Build a budget you can actually follow.

A single total is difficult to reason about. Divide it into the parts of the trip you will make decisions about.

1

Start with fixed costs

List transport, accommodation, insurance and anything already booked. These numbers give the budget a realistic base.

2

Estimate flexible costs

Think in daily amounts for food, local transport and activities. Multiply by the number of travel days.

3

Leave a buffer

Keep part of the budget unassigned for changes, fees or a plan you decide is worth it.

4

Record costs promptly

Add expenses while you still remember what they were. A useful tracker should take seconds, not become another task.

Categories that make spending easier to understand

Use only the rows that apply. The important part is keeping similar costs together so you can see where the budget is moving.

Expense questions

Useful habits

When should I add an expense?

Add it soon after paying. Waiting until the end of the day makes small cash purchases and fees easier to forget.

Should I use many categories?

Use enough categories to support decisions, but not so many that recording an expense feels slow. Five to seven categories work well for many trips.

Does TripSetGo convert currencies?

No. You choose the currency used by your account. If you pay in another currency, convert the amount using a reliable current rate before recording it.
